1. First-time download and installation notes When you download your free copy of MaxView from the Internet, you receive a self-extracting zip file. The name of this file should be something like MaxView310.exe. The “310” refers to the version number. Please check our website quarterly for new updates.
Make sure you select the SAVE THE FILE TO DISK option when you download. We suggest that you save it to your Desktop folder. In any event, please note of the name of the folder in which you save the file being downloaded.
When downloaded, you need to double-click on the file to begin the installation. Just follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Please note that beginning with version 2.05, MaxView installations on Windows NT, 2000 and XP must be installed at the "Power User" or "Administrative User" level. After running version 2.05 or higher once, thereafter MaxView may be run from any level of operating system account. During installation, if you are uncertain about which options to choose, select the default options. The ReadMe file will appear (review and close) and select Finish. A MaxView icon to conveniently launch the application can be found on your desktop.
With the FIRST installation on any workstation, MaxView will be set for a 30-day evaluation mode. You can utilize this to try out levels about the free MaxReader or you can discontinue the evaluation and continue with free MaxReader. You can register your copy of MaxView at any time directly online. With the online registration and purchase feature, you will receive a feature-enabling key that will authorize your workstation at the software level purchased.
